A lane refers to a shooting lane. It is an open and unobstructed shooting space through which to shoot an opponent. It can also be shot back through in reverse.
Lane is a loose term because a lane can be temporarily obstructed. An example of a partially obstructed lane could be a tree branch blowing in the wind. A player, media, or referee may walk through your lane. They may stop in the lane. It is for this reason players call out to refs, “You’re in my lane!”
Media may let you know they need to walk through a lane and ask not to be shot. “I’m coming through your lane.”« Back to Glossary Index
